Bobi Wine, born Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu on February 12, 1982, is a renowned Ugandan musician, activist, and politician who transformed from a popular "ghetto president" singer into the leading opposition figure against President Yoweri Museveni. As leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), he champions youth empowerment and social justice, enduring frequent arrests and repression.
Early Life and Education
Birth: Born in Mpigi District and raised in the Kamwokya slums of Kampala.
Education: Graduated with a diploma in Music, Dance, and Drama from Makerere University in 2003.
Legal Studies: Graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Cavendish University in August 2024.
Musical Career ("Edutainment")
Started in the early 2000s, blending reggae, dancehall, and Afrobeat.
